Notice is hereby given that an Extraordinary Meeting of the Chatham Islands Council will be held as follows:
Council will consider the formal appointment of the Chief Executive of the Chatham Islands Council in accordance with section 42 of the Local Government Act 2002 and clauses 33 and 34 of Schedule 7 of the Act.
The meeting will commence in public.
Council may subsequently resolve to exclude the public from part of the meeting where it is necessary to consider confidential information relating to the proposed Chief Executive's employment, including personal information, remuneration, employment terms, employment negotiations or other information for which there is a lawful basis for withholding under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987.
The formal decision to appoint the Chief Executive will be made by Council.
This Extraordinary Meeting has been called to enable Council to consider and determine the Chief Executive appointment earlier than the ordinary notice period would permit.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the public portion of the meeting.
