Nathaniel Whaitari, Graeme Hoare, Jacqui Southcombe, Keri Lea Day, Bridget Gibb, Celine Gregory-Hunt and Pita Thomas are declared elected.

The voter return percentage was 68.34%, being 300 votes.

Following the conduct of a judicial recount before His Honour Judge A.A. Couch, the result of the election for the position of Councillor was determined to be an equality of votes between candidates Amanda Seymour and Jenna Hoverd.

Pursuant to section 58(5) of the Local Electoral Regulations 2001, the Electoral Officer determined the successful candidate by lot, under Police supervision.

As a result of that determination, Jenna Hoverd is hereby declared elected as Councillor of the Chatham Islands Council.

Postponement of Inaugural Meeting

The inaugural meeting of the Chatham Islands Council, originally scheduled for Wednesday, 23 October 2025, has been postponed to a later date due to the timing of the election recount process. A new date for the inaugural meeting will be publicly notified once confirmed.
