The Chatham Islands Enterprise Trust and Chatham Islands Council are jointly considering how we can deliver better public services to our community. This Local Public Service Reform is Island‐led and is an opportunity for self‐determination.
The aim of this work is to improve the cost of living on the islands, improve the services available and provide long-term stability for a more prosperous future.
We want to hear what you think about the options in front of us. Share your opinion and help us make the best choice for our community.
You should have received an information pack in the mail.
download a physical copy of the submission form [PDF, 382 KB] and provide your feedback:
Feedback closes on 21 March 2025.
We are hosting five public meetings and drop-in sessions to present the options, answer any questions you have or assist you with the survey.
Kaingaroa
Owenga
Waitangi
Pitt Island
These are held for anyone who missed the public meetings.
After feedback closes we will decide on whether to proceed to investigate and design a preferred option.
Following that, we will come back to the community before we make a decision on implementing a new way of delivering public services on the Chatham Islands.
