Have your say on the gambling policy

The Chatham Islands Council Class 4 – Gambling Venue and Totalisator Board Venue Policy is due for review through the special consultative process.

The policy covers the control of non-casino class 4 gaming machine venues (pokies) and TABs (not at pubs).

The Council intends to add Clause 4.2 which explains that the Council will not grant consent for:

• the establishment of any additional Class 4 venues or additional gaming machines
• the re-establishment of a Class 4 venue with gaming machines once a licence is no longer held for that venue and territorial consent is required.

Make a submission

The policy is now open for public comment/submission with submissions closing at 4.30pm on Monday 16 September 2024.
