Aorangi Vets are sending two experienced vets to the Island in the first week of May (2 - 7 May).
They will be carrying out pet consults and surgery, horse and farm visits and beef cattle scanning. Due to generous funding from Environment Canterbury, Department of Conservation (DOC) and Chatham Island Landscape Restoration Trust, they can also offer fully funded cat de-sexing.
Desexing is a simple, routine operation that helps your cat live a happy and healthy life. They are prolific breeders and many of the cats that were desexed last summer were feeding kittens and already pregnant with the next litter. Kittens can begin breeding from four months of age and may even mate with their siblings and parents.
You can either book online(external link) or phone the Aorangi Vets Geraldine clinic on 03 693 1163
