Community Services
This group of activities includes arts and heritage (includes Chatham Islands Museum), the morgue and cemeteries, community support, housing, the Town Hall, parks and reserves, public conveniences, and grants and donations.
The Chatham Islands Housing Trust was formed in 2007, facilitated by the Council to co-operate with Housing New Zealand to address housing issues on the islands and providing affordable housing by:
- Building six houses
- Doing essential repairs on existing houses
- Financing first home buyers.
- Holding a home ownership workshop.

Community Outcomes
The Chatham Islands Council's community outcomes consider social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of the community and reflect local priorities.
The Chatham Islands Council wants to:
